To gain more document screen space, toolbars and status bar can be limited to a single row, or hidden.
Menu and Main Toolbar in one or two rows
To provide maximum space for the document area, the main menu and the "File | Edit | View" main toolbar are displayed one after the other in one row by default. Select Extras

Display
Toolbars and select the preferred setting under Toolbars, Menu and main toolbar to alternatively display menu and toolbar in two lines.
Hide Main Toolbar
If you prefer configuring your own custom toolbar, you can completely deactivate the "File | Edit | View" main toolbar. Select Extras
Settings
Display
Toolbars, and under Toolbars, Menu and main toolbar, select Menu only to hide the main toolbar.
Collapse Menu into Button
Select Extras
Settings
Display
Toolbars, and check the Collapse menu into button option to replace the main menu with a button. The menu will expand when clicking the button and will collapse back after having selected from the menu.
Limit Tools and Tool Properties Toolbars
To gain more document screen space, the Tools and Tool Properties toolbars above the document area can be limited to a single row, or hidden. Select Extras

Toolbars and select the preferred setting under Toolbars.
Alternative Colors
If you are red-green colorblind, select Extras
Settings
Display
Application and choose Accent Color: Blue to display the main tool icons in a blue color instead of red. Of course, you can always choose the color you prefer, even if you are not red-green colorblind.
Hide Status Bar
To gain more document screen space, the status bar below the document area can be hidden. Select Extras
Settings
Display
Toolbars and check Hide status bar. Alternatively, only check Hide page layout buttons if you wish to only suppress the layout buttons on the bottom right of the status bar.
