The line and arrow tools allow you to add mark-up, notes or simple drawings to your documents.
Choose Tool Line to enable the line tool. Press the left mouse button for the line's starting point in your document, drag the mouse to the desired end point while holding down the pressed left mouse button, then release the button.
To use the arrow tool, select Tool Arrow from the menu.
Please note that all settings listed below are saved separately for the line and the arrow tools. Even though these settings are accessed in the same way on the menu or the toolbar, you will see that when you switch between line and arrow, the proper setting automatically takes effect.
Keep the Ctrl key pressed while drawing a line or arrow to create the object starting from its center.
Under Tool Tool Styles, you can set the Color and Line Width for both tools. You can select from the preset colors and widths, or define an exact color and specify the width in millimeters or inches.
Under Tool Tool Styles, you can set the Line Style for both tools. You can select from a variety of solid, dashed and dotted line types, as well as a curly style.
Under Tool Tool Styles, you can set the Arrow Tail and Arrowhead Styles for the arrow tool. You can select from a variety of line ends and arrowheads.
Would you like to draw a set of exactly connected lines, for example a triangle? Activate the Tool Tool Styles Connect Lines setting, and start and end point of the new line will automatically be snapped to other start or end points nearby.
The Snap function is especially useful to draw vertical and horizontal lines or arrows. You enable this function by choosing Tool Tool Styles Snap to 15°.
Snap can also be activated temporarily by keeping the Shift key pressed while drawing.
